In 1993, Deep Purple's most famous 'Mark II' line up regrouped (for the second time) to celebrate their 25th anniversary with a full world tour. It all started very promising, but again like before, Ritchie Blackmore (RB) and Ian Gillian couldn't stand each other's personalities. After bad behaviour of RB at the Birmingham gig on November 9th, the rest of the band and RB were fed up with each other. RB tore up his Japanese visa and declared he would leave the band after their final Euro date in Helsinki (Finland) the 17th of the same month.

Whether it's joy, spiritual devotion or the proverbial good cheer, the holiday vibe inspires some of the warmest, most sacred--and yes, cornballest--melodies ever written. And what better instrument to praise these profound melodies than the guitar?
The challenge was to invite special kinds of guests to this particular Yuletide extravaganza: players who could coax, caress or slam out a unique voice from the instrument, and unite the spirit of Christmas with the beautiful tones of silver strings.
And that's what we did.

Deep Purple are one of the greatest bands in music history.The band was born 25 years ago: During his life was fine success, for all groups change. In July 1969 Evans and Simper deserted the band: After they followed each other person in the band.

The "boom" was in the period '70-'73, when Deep Purple attained the top world placings with the quintet Blackmore, Glover, Gillian, Lord, Paice.

In the 1973 Gillian and Glover left the band.

The guitar legend is an annual festival held by the best guitar-players of all times.
Only in 1991 such marvellous show has been planned to be taking place over the course of 5 days, allowing one night for each musical style (Jazz, Fusion, Blues, Rock, Heavy). Such planning has given the audience the possibility to appreciate its guests giving them time and space enough to appear properly.
The last of five nights was therefore dedicated to the most popular musical style: Heavy Rock.
